If the creative people behind Speed Racer the movie had shown as much brilliance as the genius who licensed the toy contract to Mattel’s Hot Wheels division, it would have been a box office smash rather than a box office disaster.

This carrying case/launcher is a perfect example; seven Speed Racer Hot Wheels cars can be stored and launched at the touch of a button either onto the floor or onto Hot Wheels track which can be attached to the opened door. All seven cars can be launched in rapid-fire succession by turning the wheel cover top one click in the direction of the arrows and releasing, which automatically lines up the next car. Meanwhile, the “movie accessory” attachments store in two compartments in the bottom. It comes with one car, either a Mach 5 with Saw Blades or a GRX with Spear Hooks.

Defects? The storage compartments are too small to hold some of the longer spear hook movie accessories, and a larger size that could hold more cars would have been nice.
